MILLEN MAGESE TO SEARCH MODELS

Tanzania renowned international model, Millen Happiness Magese will conduct an exercise of searching two models (male and female) who will participate for the first time during the South Africa Fashion Week scheduled for April 1 this year. 

Millen will conduct the exercise through her company called Millen Magese Group Company Limited under her programme of advertising Tanzania through modeling dubbed Tanzania International Fashion Expose (TIFEX). 

She said models who would wish to get a chance to represent Tanzania at the SAFW to avail themselves on Sunday 25 this month for the audition which will start at 2.00pm at the Serena Hotel. 

Millen explained that she believed Tanzanian models who will be identified from the audition will be good ambassadors for the country during the South Africa Fashion Week and therefore promote Tanzania internationally just as the way she is doing at the moment. 

She said this was the only opportunity for models to be able to advertise themselves internationally and follow her footsteps. 

Millen said models who are supposed to attend the audition must have the following qualifications:- Aged between 18 to 24, height of 1.75m, 37cm hips (with natural hair) and for men a height of 1.82m.

“I believe this exercise will benefit Tanzanian men and female models and also their participation at SAFW and other fashion events outside Africa will help in promoting the country internationally,” said Millen. 

She said the major aim of her company is taking model industry to another level and also promote Tanzania outside its borders through model industry and also tourism. 

Millen said even though there are many models and fashion designers in Tanzania, but still there were numerous shortcomings compared to South Africa and Nigeria in the same industry. 

She said those countries have made significant step and that was why she was challenged to start her company which was launched in March last year with an aim of reducing the gap and bringing development so that the relevant stakeholders benefit from the industry. 

The audition has been sponsored by Clouds Media Group and Benchmark Production. 

The judges are Ritha Poulsen, Mustapha Hassanali and Khadija Mwanamboka and super model, Aminat ayinde from America  Next top model cycle 12 has been invited to witness the audition.
