The
National Bank of Commerce (NBC) today handed over a cheque worth TZS
21.4m/- to the Tanzania Ladies Golf Section (LGS) in support of the
lady captain golf tournament taking place on Sunday 26th February 2012.
The
annual tournament aims to identify the most qualified lady golfer who
will steer the team to the victory, as the team captain for the rest of
the year.
Speaking
at the event, the NBC Events & Sponsorships Manager, Ms. Rachel
Remona Kimambo said: “We at NBC understand the significance of people
engaging in sports and it is for this reason that we have been in the
forefront in supporting sports activities.”
“We know the importance of sports in building better health, and hence
our decision to support golfers specifically the women golfers section
in order to ensure that the game thrives.”
Golf
is one of the sports, which has gained popularity amongst various
individuals in the country as an activity, which not only builds
cooperation but also develops better health amongst its participants,
some of which, happen to be NBC customers, and hence generate good
business continuity amongst the Bank and our esteemed customers.

The
Ladies golf team in Tanzania has been greatly successful when they
managed to retain the championship during last year’s Regional Ladies
Golf Tournament, which took place in August 2011.
In
August 2011, NBC supported the National Paralympics team, which
participated in the All Africa games international tournament that took
place in Maputo, Mozambique.
