ISLAMABAD (AP)—Anwar Chowdhry, who was ousted as International Boxing Association (AIBA) president over alleged corruption, died Saturday. He was 87.

Pakistan Boxing Federation spokesman Obaid Awan said Chowdhry died of a heart attack in the southern Pakistan port city of Karachi.

Chowdhry was ousted as president of the AIBA in 2006 over charges of alleged corruption and mismanagement. He led the organization for 20 years before being deposed by Taiwan’s Wu Ching-kuo.

The next year, Chowdhry was barred for life from any involvement with the body for allegedly mishandling hundreds of thousands of dollars in federation funds.

Chowdhry is survived by three daughters.
